I am the Land, I am the Earth

I am the land, I am the Earth.
Carved with soil, born from birth
My river veins, my skin like tree bark
The wind you feel is my breath in dark.
Pulse beneath your naked feet,
Is the very rhythm of my heartbeat.

Rooted strong but my soul wild and free.
The hurt you cause bends me to my knee.
Valley of secrets tells stories within
Hair like grass, where dreams are built in.

But what about the voices which slowly fade
Their hands shaped in sacred shade.
Ones who walked when times were young,
Brave and bold but their songs unsung.

You cannot wound, tear apart,
The bond between land and heart.
For just as skin and blood are one,
So are we all beneath the Sun.

I am the land, I am the Earth.
I am their voice, their rightful worth.
And the Earth remembers despite it all.
The roots of truth where justice will fall.
