Untitled

Months of constant struggle
Her eyes haven’t known rest,
She’s broken out of her bubble
To look for contentment, at best.

I’ve seen her lay down at dawn,
Staring up at the sky –
And like this, three hours gone,
She didn’t feel the time go by.

I’ve wondered as the days have gone,
How she does it all along –
Does she feel the exhaustion at all,
Or do the dark nights help her not to fall?

I think she’s done enough for now
Her body has signalled her, no doubt.
She’s decided to take a break
I hope the guilt doesn’t consume her head.

Because, she has given her all
Her happiness, her love and her soul.
People might not notice it all
But she knows the emptiness that she has bore.

When she lies down tonight,
She won’t be staring at the sky.
The night will not just pass by,
She won’t let the moon lose its light.

She will close her eyes
There will be no fight today
She will hold herself
“Sleep well,” i’ll hear her say.
