Apart from the lucky ones, most of us struggle with love. However, that’s not the end of the world and that is where sitcoms come in to save the day.
Sitcoms give us the opportunity to forget about the stressful days we go through. And some of the couples in these shows make us wish to God for that type of love in our lives. So, here are the top 5 sitcom couples that I wish I could be part of.
Jake and Amy (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)
Jake and Amy had been colleagues and worked together as detectives for years before they began dating. Their relationship is based on trust, they accept each other for who they are and lastly, they are their own people. However, the fact that they have their distinctive individuality doesn’t stop them from being understanding each other’s perspectives and actively work on their shortcomings. They started off hating each other – or at least, Amy hated Jake – but in the end, they were able to get embrace each other’s differences and be together. And that’s what makes Jake and Amy so special.
Chandler and Monica (Friends)
Honestly, I didn’t see it coming. But when it matured, it felt like the most natural relationship in the world. Monica helps Chandler overcome his fear of commitment. There was this incident where Chandler was abroad and was alone with the most beautiful girl of that state, however, he still didn’t cheat on Monica. To me what makes them an astounding couple is the fact that, they are very loyal to each other and they help each other overcome their fears and shortcomings.
Pam and Jim (The Office)
First off, I’d like to state that I disagree with the trend of believing Jim deserves better. What sets Jim and Pam apart is their incredible spontaneity – they can almost read each other’s minds. They almost always understand what they want, and they are incredibly understanding too. Even when they were going through a patchy period, they managed to overcome that in the end through honest and direct conversations.
Penny and Leonard (The Big Bang Theory)
In contrast to the couple above, Penny and Leonard are polar opposites. Penny is fun-loving, confident, and free-spirited. On the other hand, Leonard is bookish, a nerd, and full of insecurities. However, their love and care for each other transcended the contrasting interests and kept them with each other.
Princess Carolyn and Judah (Bojack Horseman)
It is not easy loving a person who is as workaholic as princess Carolyn. Princess Carolyn cares about everyone around her, even for people who don’t deserve it. But nobody seems to care about her except Judah. Judah is always there to lessen her burden, be it related to her professional life or personal. Judah’s love for Princess Carolyn is very pure and unconditional.
