Subject: Final Backup Links and Server Expiry

Sent: Thurs 19/2/26 3:55 PM GMT+6

Hello Ayan,

The compression of the archive is now complete. I have generated a bulk download link containing all posts, comments, and media files from 2018 through 2025. Please find the link attached below. It will remain active for 72 hours. I suggest you finalize your retrieval within that window, as I do not intend to re-upload the data once the link expires.

I have verified that all metadata is intact. Every entry has been preserved in the alphabetical order we established, which should make your review efficient. I have also cleared the pending cache and deleted the drafts folder. There were several unfinished posts there—mostly yours—but as they were incomplete and dated, I saw no practical reason to include them in the final backup.

Regarding the domain, the hosting service has sent the final invoice for the upcoming cycle. As you have indicated that you have no preference for ownership, I will not be settling this bill. The site will go offline at midnight on Friday. Once the grace period passes, the domain will be released to the public pool, and all server-side data will be permanently wiped. This is the last administrative step required for the closure of the archive.

I have also taken the liberty of removing my contact information from the recovery settings of the shared accounts. You may update these with your London details if you wish to keep the logins for other services, though I assume that will not be necessary given your lack of interest in the administration.

Work here is exceptionally busy. I am currently overseeing three major client transitions, and my schedule does not allow for much beyond professional obligations. I have found that a lack of distraction is necessary to maintain the output required at this level. Like you, I have found that the routines of the city are manageable as long as one does not look for meaning outside of the immediate task at hand.

Please confirm once you have successfully downloaded the files so that I can close the account. Once confirmation is received, I will consider my responsibility in this matter concluded.

I trust the links will suffice for your personal records.

Best regards,

Nabila

Hello Nabila,

Thank you for the notification regarding the completion of the compression and for providing the final backup links. I appreciate your handling the archiving process with such consistency throughout these final weeks.

I have successfully downloaded the folders I needed. I spent some time this morning verifying the integrity of the data, and everything appears to be in order. The files are accessible, and the metadata has been preserved exactly as you described. You may proceed with allowing the hosting and the domain registration to expire as scheduled. There is no need for further renewals or maintenance on my account. I have no additional requests regarding the status of the server.

The process of saving these records has been a useful exercise in closing out old projects. I appreciate the effort you have invested in maintaining everything over the years; it is clear that without your intervention, much of this would have been lost some time ago. It is a relief to have the logistical side of this settled so that it no longer requires periodic attention.

On my end, the routine remains relatively unchanged. The winter here has settled in fully, and the days are quite short, which makes the office hours feel somewhat longer than they are. I have found that keeping a strict schedule is the most effective way to manage the workload. It is a very mechanical existence—moving from the flat to the commute to the desk and back again—but there is a certain security in the repetition. It leaves very little room for anything else.

I trust that your own projects are reaching their intended conclusions, and that the transition out of the administrative role for the blog provides you with more time for your current professional commitments. I have always known you to be capable of managing a great deal at once, so I am sure you will find a productive use for the reclaimed time.

Thank you again for the careful order you brought to the files. It made the final retrieval very efficient.

I hope the rest of the month goes smoothly for you in Dhaka.

Best regards,

Ayan
