Why Dads are Our Best Friends

We all look at our dads and wonder if he will ever try to keep an alpaca as a pet, like Phill Dunphy, or if he will turn to the dark side like Darth Vader and fight us with a lightsaber.

I am sure, not all our fathers will be up for such adventures, but the one thing that we all know that our dads have in common with Mr. Dunphy or Vader is the fact that they love us the most and they always will.

In their eyes we will always be as beautiful as Haley Dunphy and as brave as Princess Leia . And this unconditional love is what makes them the best best friend a girl can ever have. Don’t believe me? Let me give you 6 reasons why.

He Lets you buy what you want

Going shipping is fun. But going shopping with your dad is just a delight. Unlike most people, he won’t constantly keep telling you not to buy that t-shirt because the color makes you look dark. In his eyes, you could be wearing a sandbag and you will still look like the prettiest person on earth. and unlike mom, he would keep reminding you of the price tag. Going to shopping with your father will not only give you the emotional support to deal with the unrealistic beauty standards of the society but will also allow you to have whatever you want and as much as you want.

He will always have your back

I am sure if you have ever been to high school, then you most definitely have been backstabbed by your fellow classmates. I am also sure that when your mother talks about you to people it mostly involves “My daughters do not study at all” “My daughter goes to school to pass time “or “My daughter only got 5 A’s. It’s not the same as 6A’s”. I am sure if you ever fail after trying a hundred times, people will say that you are incompetent. I am sure if you try to learn how to fish and you end up catching the smallest fish in a pound that only happens to have big fishes, no one will applaud for you. Unless it’s your dad.

When your dad talks about you , he talks about how incredibly proud he is of his little girl for getting A or how proud he is because his little girl never gives up or how proud he is of his little girl catching the smallest fish in the pond because he is your best friend and you most loyal supporter.

He won’t treat you like a man, he will treat you like a human being

It is difficult to make the world understand that want you want. You want to be treated the same way as a man is treated but you also want to be treated like a woman. You want to be equal but you don’t want to be exactly the same because you are your own person. And the only man who will ever treat you equal to your brother, but will appreciate the woman you are is your dad.

He won’t get tired of your existence

We make mistakes all the times. We know our friends will have our back but we all keep thinking in the back of our heads that they might get tired of listening to our complaints. They might give up on us because we failed so many times. They might judge us. but then there is your dad, no matter how many times you fail, no matter how stupid you have been, no matter how far away you have strayed, he will also want to listen to you complain. Sure, he is going to shout at times, he will probably not speak to you too, if you mess up really bad. But he will always be as excited about his girl and her life just as the first time he saw you. He is probably the only man who will always come back to you because there is no other girl out there as his little girl.

He saves you from… MOM

Everyone says we are supposed to be able to talk to your mom about anything and everything. but we all know how Ammu will react to us getting suspended from school for eating during class time. We all know how Ammu will react about us wanting to go to our friend’s sister’s wedding the night before exams. So, we don’t ever tell Ammu. We tell dad to negotiate a peace treaty with ammu and save us from her wrath.

He is always up for your crazy ideas

You at 3 A.M: “Wish I could go halfway across the world to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida “

The world:

“you will miss school “

“ it’s too expensive “

“maybe next year”

“Go with your husband, when you are old enough “

Dad: “Ma, our flight is tomorrow. “
