With iPhone 11, Apple Finally Catches up with the Competition

Tim “Apple”, as Donald Trump likes to call him, decided to finally shrink the gap iPhone had with its android competitors. The iPhone 11, not a XI, is now bigger and comes in 3 different variants. Although, there has been minimal variations to the design; the hardware and software is much beefier than before.

With Apple quickly losing its strong holds in emerging markets, it was high time for them to catch up.; they took on drastic measure. Hence, the iPhone 11 lineup was born. It’s the first time, Apple introduced, not one, not two, but three new iPhones. Something we usually observe Samsung do, I guess, they figured learning a thing or two from the rivals won’t hurt them. The iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max are the 3 new smartphones up for grab. The base model being the iPhone, while the pricier models are the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.

Notch in 2019?

Long gone are the days, where the iPhone will look like tiny ants next to the giant sized display on an average android smartphone. The iPhone 11 is 6’ inches tall while the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are 5.8’ inches and 6.4’ inches respectively. While the younger sibling comes with normal IPS panels, the older and expensive ones have OLED. Regardless of the difference of the type of display used, they all look gorgeous. Unfortunately, every time you look at those display, the huge notch will always attract your attention.

3 is the Number

A bit late to the party, but Apple seems to have nailed it with the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. The 3 camera lens on the back of the devices come with a 12MP normal, ultra-wide and telephoto lens; all of which perform superbly. They “talk to each” said Tim Cook, the new camera app stores data regarding aperture and focus, while changing between lens; which allows the lens to capture similar quality images much quicker than before. Apple also introduced a new ‘Night Mode’ to capture images in low light, I mean why wouldn’t they.

iPhone 11 owners, sadly, will not be that lucky, as they’ll have settle for the normal 12 MP and ultra-wide angle lens only. However, the whole iPhone 11 lineup shares the same 12 MP selfie camera with ToF 3D lens.

The Extra Tidbits

Other than the massive overhaul in the camera sections, Apple has introduced few small add-ins for the iPhone 11 line as well. 18W fast charging, Qi Wireless charging and a bigger capacity batteries backed by the newer and more powerful Apple A13 Bionic processors. The iPhone 11 lineup could have not been better.

iPhone 11 is Better, But It’s Not the Same Anymore

I could’ve not been more excited when Steve Jobs first introduced the iPhone back in 2007, in an era, where Nokias all too common mobile phones ruled the planet. Soon, iPhone would go on to start a revolution which gave birth to the modern smartphones and wipe Nokia out of existence. Even Android would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the iPhone or iOS. Since then, the iPhone and Apple’s events have been looked upon by many as the event which would again introduce something new to this world, in turn, starting another revolution. Unfortunately, those days are long gone.

In the last 4 to 5 years, the only innovative thing which we could see Apple do is making the iPhone’s screen bigger or introducing the dual camera setup on the iPhone 7 Plus. Some might even refuse to call that innovative at all.

Despite the stagnation, iPhones aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. The new and improved iPhone 11 lineup is aggressively priced, offering a much better alternative to android devices at similar price range. If you wanted a new iPhone or wanted to switch from Android; the iPhone 11 line might be what you been waiting for.
